Stunning Slip Stitch Texture: Knit Stitch of the Week

A fast and easy repeat for a surprisingly impressive fabric texture.

This is the texture seen in the Christmas Eve Fitted Mitten KAL and I've recently been asked to write up the flat version of the instructions.

If you cannot see the 'dimples' fo the fabric clearly enough increase the tension as you work the no slip rows or rounds.

So here we are.

Both knit in the round and knit flat versions for your next projects either as a knitter or possibly for something you design yourself.

Abbreviations

k knit

sl slip

p purl

Slip Stitch Texture in the Round

Designer Info

This is a 2 stitch repeat worked over 4 rows.

An excellent filler for a cable mixer or a warming scarf or sock design.

Test tension squares as a slightly higher tension gives a greater dimple effect in the finished fabric.

Instructions

Row 1: (K1, sl) around

Row 2: k around

Row 3: (sl, k1) around

Row 4: k around
